Potter and Bimble

I can feel my physical energy starting to return and the joint inflammation is dissipating.  And I am pretty sure that reading the signs and stopping rather than pushing through has helped the process.  Participating in an online conference with several Mindfulness meditations most likely played a role too.

So today I have been indulging in a bit of pottering to get the energy flowing again in a gentle way.  Pottering generally involves, another great word, bimbling about the house doing “stuff”.  Stuff I had to put on hold over the last few days as all my energy had been specifically accounted for.

One of the principles of Mindfulness is really embracing the good experiences and particular proponent has also applied this to the study of the brain.  His view is that cultivating positive experiences through being mindful and present actually does change our brains to allow for more self and collective compassion.  In my case today’s good experiences has involved putting out washing, analysing my transits, meditating with my crystals, chatting online with two of my dearest friends and..ahem…giving all my quartz crystals a bath. Yes, a bath.

And maybe it’s because of the last few days of feeling physical pain and profound tiredness (ie suffering) I ate up these experiences with a great big spoon.  Like they were some form of double chocolate gooey goodness, savouring every bite.

More pottering and bimbling tomorrow (a few of my other crystals now want a bath) to make sure that I am well rested and recovered then back to it Monday.

Until then the online conference still awaits.

I'd love to hear from you...
