I received a new word today. I’ve heard it before probably a number of times but I didn’t take it in. Today I took it in as if it were nourishment, the word bodhisattva
I am reading a free e-book written by Buddhist Monk and Mindfulness teacher Thich Nhat Hanh on my way to work. And on my journey I read…
“A bodhisattva is someone who has compassion within himself or herself and who is able to make another person smile or help someone suffer less. Every one of us is capable of this”
Ah I get it. Finally. Message understood. It doesn’t have to be life changing or epoch defining, just help someone suffer less. Sounds so simple and utterly obvious. Yet until I read it today it wasn’t.
Its another piece of guidance that can help me stay focused on doing a little at a time and keeping up momentum.
That’s it.
Bodhisattva.
Nothing else needed to be said today.
