Power play

Be the woman you want to be.  And act accordingly.

Wise advice from one of my Capricorn sisters today.  Profound advice too because as you allow it to sink in and permeate your consciousness you realise how vast and powerful that statement is.  I was never a fan of these kind of affirmations and statements, I may have even rolled my eyes at a fair few of the “you are a strong and powerful woman” ones and there was no way I could even bring myself to say it in the mirror.

Some of that is the earthy Geordie upbringing because if you said or did any of that you’d have a hundred people “tekkin the piss” within seconds, my family leading the charge. Geordie’s don’t usually do that kind of sentimental unless it involved “The Toon”.

It’s not very Aries ascendant either which just wants to get on with it and far too positive for the Moon in Virgo.

But –

Of course there was a but. And this but enters stage left with a scence stealing flourish…

In fact let’s say it again. Be the woman you want to be.  And you know what, I do want to be strong and powerful. And more than that, I am! Not power over others but in charge and positively resplendent in my personal power. Not a weightlifter but someone with the phsyical, spiritual, mental and emotional strength to make healthy choices and assert what feels right for me.  Why do we tell ourselves that saying these things are sentimental? Hogwash? Eye-roll inducing? What would we be if we all actually believed this? Not the ego dominating force or the competing to be the best but knowing, deeply knowing that you already are. Wow, what we could do then…

I get now completely Marianne Williamson’s words:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

In love, light and service ✨

I'd love to hear from you...
