I had planned to go to the shop today but the weather had other ideas as it’s been a hot one today. Instead we walked some of the Thames path, on the less popular North side normally home to the City workers during the week.
One of the joys of living in London is that you don’t have to go far to go somewhere that you’ve never been before, or, for that matter, do something new. Wandering through the City near what is called Queenhythe, named after Queen Matilda, the wife of Alexander the Great, we came across this amazing mosaic (above) detailing the history of this part of London from pre Roman times. Not a Roman mosaic rather fairly new but still stunning.
A message of the pleasure of discovery wherever you are. You never know what you could find on your doorstep.
